Desert Ecosystem Preservation

Discover why desert communities offer the perfect balance of natural beauty and modern comfort. From stunning landscapes and outdoor living to water-wise landscaping, smart irrigation, and sustainable design, today’s desert communities are redefining what it means to live comfortably in an arid climate.

Living next to Natural Undisturbed Open Space (NUOS) offers beauty, biodiversity, and environmental benefits—but also requires thoughtful management. NUOS areas support wildlife habitat, reduce flooding through natural stormwater absorption, and help cool communities. HOAs manage the open space, while homeowners maintain their lots responsibly. Together, proper stewardship ensures fire safety, healthy ecosystems, and long-term property value in Tucson’s desert communities.
